More on Brock Lesnar’s Latest Failure & The WWE Wellness Policy

July 20, 2016 | Posted by Larry Csonka

– Yesterday it was reported that Brock Lesnar failed his drug test on the night of UFC 200. This goes along with his out of competition failure on June 28th. Lesnar reportedly tested positive for the same banned substance on both tests, which was Clomiphene (an anti-estrogen used to increase testosterone production while cycling off of steroids).

There is a lot of speculation on whether or not WWE will suspend Lesnar for violating their wellness policy. The first question is whether or not Lesnar even falls under the wellness policy. The policy reads, ”This Policy, as it may be amended from time to time, is applicable to and binding upon all WWE Talent under contract to WWE who regularly perform in-ring services as a professional sports entertainer (“WWE Talent”).” Lesnar is not exactly a full time performer, and at this time, WWE has not answered requests regarding Lesnar’s status under the policy.

If you read the wellness policy, you will see that Clomiphene is on the list of banned substances. While his failures did not happen on WWE’s clock, the wellness policy does note that outside violations/issues with the law can be looked at as a failure.

Again, this will all come down to whether or not Lesnar is even begin tested under the policy.
