Greg DeMarco’s Bold Hell In a Cell Predictions

October 26, 2014 | Posted by Greg De Marco

On Sunday, October 26, the WWE presents its annual Hell In A Cell pay-per-view, where the company busts out their supersized steel cage in hopes of ending rivalries…or at least making them seem more important.

One of the common misperceptions about Hell In A Cell is that it’s a feud ender. Thanks to monthly pay-per-views and the need to drive television ratings, it’s usually a stop in the road for a feud. And given the lineup using this year’s Cell, it’s easy to presume neither rivalry is over—one isn’t ready to end…and the other should have ended years ago!

Speaking of years ago, take a look at the WWE’s Top 10 Most Destriuctive Hell In a Cell moments!

Something tells me the company will try to add a new one to the list this Sunday.

So anyway, precisely what is going to happen at WWE Hell In A Cell on Sunday? Well, for that question you should check out our 411Mania Roundtable Preview!

Because contained below are bold predictions for the event. Not likely to happen, these are indeed B.O.L.D.: Bullheaded, Outlandish, Lascivious, and Deplorable. But if one hits, I can promise you’ll never hear the end of it!

Bur first, I’ve received some recent feedback about my last two bold predictions. Basically, some people think that while they’re bold, they’re not bold enough. They’re bold—but not B.O.L.D!

Well I’ve heard you loud and clear!

Today I present to you a new set of predictions, and these are…BOLDER! Bullheaded, Outlandish, Lascivious. Deplorable, Erroneous and Reprehensible!

Now then, let’s have some fun!

Dean Ambrose Wins Yet Heads Back To The Midcard

It’s safe to say that the majority of online fans are far more interested in the Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins Cell match than it’s John Cena vs. Randy Orton Cell enclosed counterpart. The casual fans? They’re probably split down the middle.

And that’s why this match is going to deliver the goods—it’s a coming out party for Ambrose and Rollins. Someone is doing something crazy. Be it a table spot off of the cell…going through the cell…something big is going down during this match.

After it happens, and Ambrose likely wins, fans are going to be disappointed. Not in the match, not in the result, but in the follow-up. The WWE is notorious for pushing guys up the card, and then back down the card. And that’s what’s in the cards (no pun intended) for Dean Ambrose.

Tell me: How will you feel when he’s feuding with The Miz by the end of the year? Bray Wyatt? BO DALLAS?!?! It could happen, and it will. Right after Hell In A Cell. We’ve all seen the reports that WWE officials aren’t sold on Ambrose as a main event talent just yet. And that means it’s time to play the game…in the midcard.

A lot of good can happen there, including programs with Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro and Sheamus. But it’s not going to equate to the main event push that everyone expects will cause Ambrose to leap past Roman Reigns and take over the front runner spot to main event WrestleMania. In the WWE’s eyes, it’ll be time for Dean Ambrose to come back down to earth, and that’s exactly what’ll happen.

I told you these predictions were BOLDER!

Randy Orton Pins John Cena With An….RKO OUTTA NOWHERE

John Cena lost a match against Dean Ambrose, allowing Ambrose to fight Rollins in the Cell. Cena’s consolation prize (except NO ONE is allowed to call it that) is showdown # 652,008 with Randy Orton—something Orton reminded us isn’t even their first time in the Cell together!

Adding insult to injury (er…I mean intrigue to the showdown!) is the “future WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match” that the winner receives. The winner of the consolation prize match. I mean, if THAT doesn’t give Seth Rollins an insane rub I don’t know what does!

There are rumblings that John Cena is headed to another showdown with Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble—and the booking makes sense given the outcome of their last match. But Randy Orton also seems headed for a face turn, and Orton vs. Lesnar is the more interesting match at this point.

Add in the fact that RKO OUTTA NOWHERE is sweeping the social media globe, and it appears like a creative RKO spot is just what the doctor ordered in this match.

A creative RKO…OUTTA NOWHERE!

Paige Wins The Divas Championship Just To Prove Everyone Wrong

I don’t know if you guys heard, but there’s a “rule” in place that states no Total Divas cast member can hold the WWE Divas Championship. And you probably also read reports that Paige and Alicia Fox are joining said cast, leaving AJ Lee and…well AJ Lee to hold the Divas Championship under this silly little rule.

Cue Stephanie McMahon to deny these reports, even if it was shared by Divas themselves. And if we know anything about the WWE, once they get it in their heads to prove a point, they will PROVE THAT F*CKING POINT!

And the beneficiary of that is Paige, who will win her third WWE Divas Championship since April when she defeats AJ Lee at Hell In A Cell…

…all to prove the reports wrong. Because booking to prove people wrong is always a good decision!

Brie vs Nikki Ends In A Draw – Bella Twins Are Held In Abeyance

Now we’re talking!

One of my SummerSlam Bold Predictions was the turning of Nikki Bella. It turned out to be not-so-bold as many predicted it, so I am now back…WITH A VENGENCE! You Bellas may be pretty, but no one makes Greg DeMarco look stupid!

The Bellas feud has gotten so bad even the WWE stopped caring about it. It was the bane of Raw’s existence for a while (or at least it felt like it) and now it’s been more of an afterthought. The pay-per-view will feature Brie vs. Nikki (which for some reason people thought would take place inside the cell!) in a match where the winner has to be the other’s personal assistant for a month.

NOW THAT’S A PRIZE!

So here’s what’ll happen: Brie will reverse the Rack Attack into a Crucifix Pin, but both Bellas’ shoulders will be down for the count. Maybe it’ll be Nikki’s boobs that cause the shift in weight or something—it doesn’t matter.

What matters is that we’ll have a #BELLACONTROVERSY that makes it damn near impossible to determine who the personal assistant is! Yeah! And to give the WWE Board of Directors time to figure it out (I mean, this is even too big for The Authority), both Brie and Nikki Bella will be HELD IN ABEYANCE!

And then we don’t have to see them on TV!

Which means you won’t have to look at Brie this way when she keeps doing the “Yes!” chant.

#BRIEMODE!

2 Out Of 3 Falls Stipulation Hurts Dolph Ziggler vs Cesaro

The WWE Twitter-verse had a simultaneous orgasm on Tuesday night when word got out about the Intercontinental Championship Match at Hell In A Cell between Dolph Ziggler and Cesaro being 2 Out Of 3 Falls.

And for many of them it was their first. EVER!

Congrats. How was it?

I digress! The match itself, on paper, should be amazing. Two of the best in-ring performers given a three falls to entertain us! You can’t beat that.

Except you can.

There are eight matches on this card, and two of them are gonna get some serious time. Those two matches are held in this really big cage, and this match isn’t. so while 2 Out Of 3 Falls sounds great, it’s setting you up for a letdown if they’re only given 9 minutes to work with. Then you get fast falls and get to read internet recaps using the phrase “never really got out of first gear.”

So don’t get your hopes up for this match.

Get your hopes up for the 2 Out Of 3 Falls REMATCH on RAW! Because that’ll get 30.

Damien Mizdow Pins Sheamus Leading To US Championship Confusion

Damien “Mizdow” Sandow is one of the most entertaining parts of WWE programming each week. He’s taken this character, which seemed doomed from the start, and he’s made the most of it. Much like The Miz himself did years ago, and Dolph Ziggler too. That’s true talent: taking a horribly crappy gimmick and turning it into gold.

It’s gotten over and WWE has noticed. So much so that they’ve had the announcers point it out to The Miz on commentary, and ol’ Mike has gotten defensive!

So at this point, the feud just has to happen, right?

And happen it will. During his United States Championship match with Sheamus, Miz will decide it’s time for a breather. Enter Mizdow, who will perform amicably against Sheamus. So much so that Miz wants back in, but Mizdow is on a roll and pins the champion himself!

This leads to controversy, and ultimately, Kane declares that Damien Sandow is the United States Champion. He might lose it on Raw, but it’d be because Miz costs him the title. Either way, this kicks of the Miz-Sandow feud we’ve been dying to see.

Before Miz starts feuding with Dean Ambrose that is.

AND THAT’S HOW YOU GET BOLDER!

On A Personal Note:

This writing marks the end of my fourth year at 411Mania, a ride that saw me head up The Wrestling 5 and 1, recap Impact Wrestling, take on Buy Or Sell (the indy version of Fact or Fiction), The 4 R’s of Raw, The 4 R’s of Impact Wrestling, The World’s Most Dangerous Column and more. Readers have called everything in the book, from a brilliant man to a pedophile.

And for that I say thank you.

Writing for 411Mania lead to the success of The Greg DeMarco Show, and is really the only reason anyone knows who I am and cares about my opinion. I’ve made FM radio appearances and I’ve had work featured all over the world. I left 411Mania twice but never stayed away very long. And truth be told, I turned in my resignation to the bosses more times than that.

But I kept coming back…and I’m glad I did. Very few people get paid to write about wrestling on the internet. And when they do it’s usually for an insignificant share of the advertising revenue. Websites all over will promise you the world, and deliver nothing.

What makes this significant is you, the reader. Your reactions. Your comments. Your shares. That’s the reward for all of our hard work and dedication to the product we give you. A big thank you goes out to Ashish Pabari, Jeremy Thomas and of course Larry Csonka. Larry gave me prime real estate in The Wrestling 5 and 1 when he hired me, and he’s been supportive and understanding of everything I’ve done on stage and everything I’ve said behind the scenes along the way.

All too often something like this is followed by a departure, but that is not at all the case. I love writing for 411Mania, and it’d take serious change to my personal schedule or a serious paying gig somewhere else for me to leave. Simply put, I like it here.

Thank you for being a part of this journey, I look forward to sharing it with you in the future!
