#5 - Wrestlemania IX | Giant Gonzalez vs. Undertaker

Wrestlemania 9 is largely considered to be the worst Wrestlemania of them all, for good reason. One of those reasons was the match between the supremely over Undertaker and the newcomer Giant Gonzales. In a seemingly never-ending trend, Taker was being fed monsterous opponents, a move which nearly killed his Tombstone finisher. However, unlike the other big men that UT had faced, Gonzales had neither talent nor heat; absolutely zero of both.

But as we all know, Vince McMahon loved to one-up the NWA/WCW, and by hiring Gonzales, he attempted to make him the marketable star that WCW couldn't as El Gigante; he failed. This match between the two was absolutely horrible, due to Gonzales' complete lack of ability. His "selling", a term used loosely here, made Hogan look like Ric Flair in a match with Steamboat. Finally, to quote another recapper, "after 18 hours of non-action", the ending came in the form of a cheap DQ when Gonzales smothered Taker with a choloroform soaked rag. This would lead to another "classic" match at SummerSlam '93. Joe Rivett on Giant Gonzales and Undertaker at Wrestlemania IX.
Giant Gonzales not only was a terrible wrestler, but his naked ape outfit was the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.
