The 411 top ten moments were much debated, and of course some major moments were left out of the actual countdown. Here are some that just missed the cut, and why:
The Death of Owen Hart
Unquestionably sad and memorable, the death of Owen Hart had very little impact. It sounds cold to say that about someone's death, but the countdown was the most memorable and influencial wrestling moments, not human interest stories. I have heard that Owen's death was a major story in Canada, leading the news for several days. However in the US, it was a minor story, and had little to no impact on pro wrestling.
Hell in a Cell 1 and 2
Both matches were amazing, but were just not as important or memorable as some of the other matches that did make the countdown.
Collpase of HBK on Raw
It certainly shocked a lot of people at the time, but to us, it didn't have the impact that other moments did. Also started a negative trend in wrestling of the fake injury angle, that makes fans doubt when a wrestler is actually hurt.
Others that garnered consideration are:
The MSG Clique incident (not enough solid evidence of its impact)
The firing of Eric Bischoff/hiring of Russo and Ferrera (importance still to be determined)
Rock joins the Nation (sadly there was not one moment that signaled the huge impact of the Rock)
