Dana White Explains Ronda Rousey’s Quick Exit After Face-Off

In an interview with MMA Junkie, Dana White spoke about why Ronda Rousey quickly left the stage after her surprise face-off with her UFC 207 opponent Amanda Nunes. Here are highlights:

On why Rousey didn’t stick around for an interview like Nunes did: “She was never supposed to speak, and neither was Amanda. My production guy screwed that up. It made Ronda look bad again – like she just stormed off. They were not supposed to do an interview. They were supposed to go out there and square off, and they were both supposed to walk away.”

On why he grabbed Rousey’s arm: “We’re not perfect all the time. Our team … made a lot of mistakes coming into this event that I’m not happy about.”

On if Rousey will talk to MMA outlets: “She was on (‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’). She’s doing (‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’). She’s doing all the talk shows. Is she going to talk to (the MMA media)? I don’t know.”
