CM Punk Says Announcement For His Next Fight May Be Coming Soon

November 21, 2016 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

CM Punk’s UFC career isn’t over quite yet. Punk appeared on The MMA Hour (via The Daily Star) and said that despite Dana White previously saying that Punk’s next fight shouldn’t be in the UFC, they’ve had some conversations about a possible second go.

When asked by Ariel Helwani if he’ll have one more UFC fight, Punk said, “To me, yeah. That’s up to Dana. I had a good conversation with him and I told him, “Hey if you want to cut me, I get it. But I’m fighting whether it’s for you or somebody else.’ I don’t got an agent and I don’t got a manager, I’m like Bill Murray just with a lot less money, not as funny or not as funny. But, I told him I want to fight again.”

He added, “We’re back at it and we’re back to the drawing board. So it’s up to him. He floated me and we’re kind of going back and forth on it right now. I’m at the point where I kind of want to get something on paper. You might hear an announcement in the coming weeks, there’s no timetable, though.”

Punk’s first fight drew heavy promotion and ended in a first-round loss to Mickey Gall at UFC 203 by submission.
